STUDY ABROAD/EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

GIMPA-NCCU STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME (Sept 2010)

  • This is a program designed for EMPA students from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) to undertake a comparative study of administration in Ghana as part of their final EMPA program. Since 2007, GIMPA has hosted three batches of students from NCCU. The unique aspect of the program is that students are attached to community based public service organizations in rural Ghana.

  • This enabled them to discover first hand some of the challenges facing these communities especially with regard to the administration of core public services and delivery such as water, sanitation, public health and education. Some of the communities that the students visited last year were Agona Swedru, Koforidua Tafo and Battor and in these communities the students learnt first hand the challenges facing these communities.
