The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) invites applications from qualified persons for appointment to the following positions in the Institute.
1. STORES SUPERVISOR/MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate shall be responsible for:
• Ensuring availability of stock items while maintaining optimum stock holding, thereby ensuring cost effectiveness of the stores.
• Ensuring stock management policies and procedures are adhered to and complaints investigated on regular basis with feedback to Management.
• Building and maintaining effective internal and external customer relationships and providing acceptable levels of customer service.
• Overseeing the maintenance of a perpetual inventory system to ensure adequate levels at Central Stores and custodial supplies and materials, timely deliveries, and identification and disposal of obsolete items.
• Coordinating cycle inventory schedules and preparation of inventory sheets, monitoring maintenance of inventory records. Adjusting reorder points according to changing departmental usage.
• Maintaining computerized records and reviewing records of transactions, stock levels, inventories, and related records.
• Performing any other related tasks as directed by Management.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
a) Must have an HND in Purchasing and Supply or a Bachelors Degree in Procurement or a related field.
b) A minimum of five years’ of operational and supervisory experience in Procurement, or Stores.
c) Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) certificate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
• Microsoft Office proficient especially in Excel.
• Ability to compile and populate reports using MS Word and Excel.
• General supervisory skills.
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Commercial awareness.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
• Ability to resolve conflict and to develop a good working relationship with others.
• Knowledge in Public Procurement Act 663.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:
The successful candidate shall hold office for a term of two (2) years in the first instance and may be reappointed for further terms of two years each, subject to satisfactory performance.

2. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCE SUPERVISOR
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate shall generally be responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all the cable, satellite, television, and other audio visual equipment of the Institute.
HE OR SHE SHALL:
• Set up audio visual aids for all functions/activities.
• Facilitate video and audio recording.
• Assist faculty and participants in the usage of audio-visual and other technical aids.
• Service television sets and public address systems.
• Maintain, service and install LCD projectors.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
a) Must have an HND in electrical/electronic engineering or a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or in any other related field.
b) Must have substantial experience in audio visual settings, and the fixing and maintenance of audio visual equipment.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Microsoft products and solutions, including: Workstation operating systems (2000, XP) Microsoft Office productivity applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Access, Project).
• Adequate knowledge in amplifier and power circuits.
• Digital electronics and printed circuit board troubleshooting and analysis.
• Computer hardware and system maintenance.
• Television repairs and installation.
• Knowledge in sound engineering.
• Knowledge of networking topologies and protocols, and a good understanding of the underlying hardware platform (switches, routers, wifi access points).
ADVANTAGES:
• Experience with remote monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Knowledge of Internet communications (ftp, http, https, ssl, VPN, IPSec) and e-mail protocols and how to troubleshoot them.
SKILLS:
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum or no supervision.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good team player.
