Vacancy Announcement – Dean of School of Technology

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), a world class centre of excellence for training in leadership, management and administration, located at Greenhill, Achimota, seeks to appoint a Dean of School of Technology.

The Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the school/faculty. He/she is responsible for the academic leadership and general administration of the school/faculty in respect of human, financial and material resources of the school within the general framework of GIMPA’s statutes and policies.The successful candidate will help shape the future of the school in ways consistent with GIMPA’s vision and strategic plan. It is expected that the newly appointed Dean will have a distinguished record of academic achievement and managerial competence.
The successful person shall hold office for a term of three (3) academic years and may be eligible for another term of three (3) academic years only.

The successful candidate shall report to the Rector through the Deputy Rector.

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications, traits, and competencies:
• Should preferably be of professorial status from a reputable institution.
• Should have a Ph.D. degree in computer engineering or computer science or management information systems.

• Be capable of providing academic and administrative leadership.

• Should be able to teach at least 3 of the courses offered in the school.
• Should be conversant with both local and international accreditation systems.
• Should have strong people management and problem solving skills
• Be disciplined and a good team player with mentorship skills.
• Strong and effective verbal and written communication.
• Strong commitment to academic excellence.
• Ability to develop collaborations with external higher learning institutions and industry that contribute to the image and development of the school.
• Ability to take initiatives leading to new innovations and the development of new educational programmes.
• Ability to mobilize material and financial resources for the development of the school
• Ability to develop realistic budget and manage fiscal matters
• Ability to serve a full term of three (3) years before statutory retirement age of sixty (60) years.
