The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has organised a day’s workshop for all its affiliates.
The event which took place at the main GIMPA campus was themed: “Promoting Quality Assurance in Academic Administration.
The affiliate institutions that participated in the workshop were: Kaaf University College, The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff of College and the Africa University College of Communication (AUCC).
The rest are: The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Nobel International Business School and Lucas College (Ghana).
The Academic and Administrative Head of the Institute, Prof. Samuel Adams, in his opening address indicated that GIMPA, being a centre of excellence, was committed to ensuring that all quality assurance procedures at GIMPA and also at the various affiliates institutions are adhered to.
“We are constantly looking at improving our standard of education, thus we believe partnering with you affiliates will not only serve mutual benefits but also help you to improve on your lot,” he said.
The purpose of the gathering, he said, was therefore to challenge “ourselves on how to promote high standard education generally.
Prof. Adams urged them to participate fully in the programme and to share best practices to help chart a path towards attaining high standard of education.
Mr. Julius Atikpui, Acting Secretary/Registrar of GIMPA gave a presentation on: “Students’ Life Cycle.”
Prof. Edward Fekpe, an associate Dean of the Business School also presented on the topic “Quality Assurance.”
Mrs. Gloria Appoh, Deputy Registrar at the Academic Registry also gave a presentation on the topic “Managing the Affiliation Relationship.”
