TEN Ghana launched at the Dreamers Seminar 2016 in partnership with GIMPA Business School

A report by Felix Darfour (Protocol Officer TEN Ghana)

Today’s Entrepreneurs Network (TEN) Ghana in collaboration with GIMPA Business School  organised the much anticipated Dreamers Seminar 2016 which came off on Wednesday 16th November 2016, and brought together successful entrepreneurs and business magnates, astute academics and budding entrepreneurs/future business leaders under one roof to network, share experiences and lessons for success in the entrepreneurship world.

Some of the gurus in the Ghanaian entrepreneurship scene who graced the occasion with their presence and shared vital lessons for success included Dr Daniel McKorley (CEO of McDan Shipping Limited), Mr Sandy Osei-Agyeman (CEO Slid Industry), Mrs Geogette B. Sakyi-Addo (President Women in Mining WIM/Exec, Dir. Geogette Barnes Co. Ltd.) and Prof. Samuel Bonsu (Dean of GIMPA Business School).

Launching the event, Ms. Violet Bawuah (Executive Director of TEN Ghana and Director of Careers and Counselling at GIMPA) impressed on how important the Dreamers Seminar was in shaping the outlook of young entrepreneurs and future business leaders. She intimated that getting first-hand knowledge/guidance from those who have ventured into the entrepreneurial field and succeeded can help nurture and mentor those dreaming of venturing into this very unpredictable field. This she said helps in avoiding the mistakes that the successful entrepreneurs encountered during the infancy stages of their businesses and how they succeeded against all odds.

Launching the TEN Ghana organisation and how this laudable initiative came about the founder of TEN Ghana Mr. Kelvin P. Atuguba an entrepreneur and business student at GIMPA Business School mentioned the difficulty students, young business executives, business start-ups and young entrepreneurs face in assessing information, making the right decisions and linking up with the right contacts/networks which can be vital for the success of a business.

Africa and Ghana in particular with its youthful population coupled with the high unemployment rate needs young people especially those with the desire to set up businesses of their own to succeed and help curb the menacing unemployment epidemic. An organisation like TEN Ghana couldn’t have come at a better time.

The next in the series of TEN Ghana’s initiatives to help aspiring and budding entrepreneurs is the SUMMER INCUBATOR PROGRAMME which will be coming off very soon.
