GIMPA’s Information Technology Department plays a pivotal role in realizing the university’s strategic plan, mission and objectives. The IT department provides ICT services to support the GIMPA’s endeavors in delivering quality education in the areas of Academic Leadership, Management and Business Administration.
The IT department encourages and authorizes staff and students to conduct business and affairs through the use of GIMPA’s IT systems by adhering to established policies in the areas of correct usage of electronic communication, web, data general support services, and the ITS ERP system introduced recently.
The department is committed to creating an enabling environment to aid GIMPA’s objective to be the leader of quality education in West Africa.
Principally, the Information Technology Department plays the role of providing support services to the GIMPA community which is made up of Staff / Students. Our areas of expertise are:
1. Network Engineering: (Wi-Fi, data management, network maintenance and expansion, network monitoring)
2. Systems Administration:(email services, server management, IT support services, anti-virus monitoring & maintenance services, installation & upgrade of Windows Operating Systems, installation & maintenance of MS office suites, backups of Finance department’s data)
3. Implementation and Support: ITS ERP system (set up, pins / password creation, students registration)
4. General ICT support Services:(software/hardware usage, repairs, installations and upgrades)
