GIMPA on October 26, 2022, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana Association of Former International Civil Servants (GAFICS).
The Rector of GIMPA, Prof. Samuel Kwaku Bonsu signed on behalf of the Institute, while the president of GAFICS, Mr. Kwaku Dua Osei-Bonsu signed on behalf of GAFICS. The ceremony was witnessed by the Secretary of the Institute, Mrs. Victoria M. Kunbour, and Mr. Duah Owusu-Sarfo, the vice president of GAFICS.
With the MoU signed, GAFICS would be constructing the GIMPA-GAFICS Resource Centre to be located on the Greenhill Campus of the Institute.
The centre will serve as the venue for GAFICS to have their meetings while GIMPA on the other hand, will have access to the building for their own activities when not in use by GAFICS.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Bonsu thanked GAFICS for their commitment to collaborate with the Institute. He was optimistic that the partnership would yield good fruits for both parties.
Taking his turn, Mr. Kwaku Dua Osei-Bonsu was grateful to management for the confidence reposed in GAFICS, indicating that the discussions had gone on well.
He further assured the Rector that GHAFICS would not disappoint in the delivery of its part of the MoU.
GAFICS is an association that seeks to contribute to the social and economic development of the country by placing the skills and expertise of its members at the disposal of the government as well as other Ghanaian organizations and institutions.
Formed on September 14, 2000, GAFICS constitutes former Ghanaian Professional Staff of the United Nations and other International Intergovernmental Organizations.
