In a brief but colourful ceremony held at the GECC, Professor Martin Morgan Tuuli was sworn-in as our new Deputy Rector. Professor Tuuli has been Deputy Rector since July 1st 2020 but this was the first time he was speaking publicly.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the GIMPA Council, Kofi Darko Asante, Esq., welcomed Professor Tuuli to his new position. The Chairman spoke about the dearth of research activity in Africa as a whole. He exhorted our new Deputy Rector to bring new energy to the position, mentioning especially his desire that GIMPA is at the forefront of research in Ghana.
After being sworn in as the new Deputy Rector Professor Tuuli was then robed in his ceremonial attire by the Chairman, assisted by other Council members. He then proceeded to deliver his first speech as Deputy Rector, thanking all who had played a part in his ascension to the new position.
Present at the impressive ceremony were members of the GIMPA Council, our Rector, GIMPA staff from all levels, and family and friends of the new Deputy Rector.
