Prof. Noble Kumawu, the author of “The Father of Organization Development in Africa: The Journey, the Struggles and the Career” is an award-winning Organization Development (OD) practitioner. He is described by many as the “Father of OD” in Africa, and this is because he was the only African among foreign Consultants brought to the continent by International organizations and development partners to facilitate transformational changes at a time when the concept of OD was unknown in Africa.
As the President of the Organization Development Institute, (Ghana), currently the only Institution in Africa running accredited institutionalized OD programmes, Prof. Kumawu believes it is his duty to help popularise the OD concept.
He has, therefore, donated ten (10) copies of his book to GIMPA in his quest to aid in expanding the studies of OD, especially, in Africa. It is also to honour the promise he made when he was a Facilitator at the “Developing the New GIMPA Strategic Plan” workshop.
Professor Ebenezer Adaku, an Associate Professor at the GIMPA Business School who aided in the exercise expressed his gratitude to Prof. Kumawu for the gesture saying ‘This is indeed commendable and timely. It will aid in the teaching and learning processes.’
The books were received by Mr. Adolph Agbeh, the Institute Librarian who expressed his profound gratitude to Prof. Kumawu. He stated that physical books would never go out of fashion, even with the availability of electronic books and emphasized that the books would be made available to all library users.
